In the context of its fifth anniversary of operations in Panama, Arias welcomes attorney Yuri Moreno, who joins the firm as a Partner since February 2016. Joining along with Mr. Moreno is the legal team of his previous practice Moreno Vásquez & Asociados, which represents a 25% increase in the legal team of Arias Panama, strengthening their presence in the country.
Yuri Moreno received his Degree in Law and Political Science at Santa Maria La Antigua University, graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. In addition, he has a diploma in German as a second language of the Göethe Institut in Hamburg and also speaks English and French. He has specialized in providing legal counsel in the sectors of banking and insurance, as well as general corporate advice to local and foreign companies. His experience includes participation in civil and commercial litigation, real estate transactions, among others.
An important highlight in his career is his role as Chief Negotiator of the Foreign Trade Council (1996-1997), entity that formed part of the Presidency of the Republic of Panama, in order to initiate the negotiations of Free Trade Agreements with Mexico and Chile. Yuri is also an ideal referee to the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of Panama and to the national section of Panama before the Inter-American Commission of Commercial arbitration (CIAC).
